Delegate Nicole Williams Newsletter - 5/26/2022

Dear Neighbors and Friends -

Maryland's primary elections are rapidly approaching, and Team Nicole is excited to share endorsement news as more organizations and community members rally behind our campaign. I am honored to have received the support of the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, the Maryland State Education Association, CASA de Maryland, the Maryland/D.C. branch of the AFL-CIO, ATU Local 689, and the Maryland chapter of the Sierra Club. You can learn more about these incredible organizations and how they work to represent Marylanders later on in this newsletter. Our campaign is always looking for more help as I work to continue representing District 22 in Annapolis. Our team is out canvassing in the community, phone banking, and connecting with voters to hear about the issues that matter most. If you are interested in joining in on our efforts to help keep us in this race to the finish, please visit www.nicoleawilliams.com or sign up here to volunteer. We would love to have you on board! - Nicole

Greenbelt ACE Student Awards

This year, Greenbelt's very own Olivia Guerrieri was selected as a recipient of my District 22 Delegate's Scholarship and was recognized at the Greenbelt Advisory Committee on Education (ACE) awards ceremony earlier this month. Olivia is a graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School, as well as Elon University, where she graduated with a degree in political science. She has been a long-standing figure in our community, having worked with local youth in the Greenbelt Recreation Departmentā€™s art summer camp since she was 15. In addition, Olivia volunteered for the Prince Georgeā€™s County Medical Reserve Corps during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing much-needed help to our community in a time of crisis. Since her graduation, Olivia has worked at nonprofits like the American Association of University Women and Rock the Vote. She returns to Prince Georgeā€™s County to pursue her Masterā€™s in Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. This award is incredibly well-deserved - congratulations, Olivia!

Community Member Endorsement

"Nicole is someone I have had the great honor of knowing for years now, and in that time she has always maintained her commitment to her community. Whether it be attending community meetings or giving to collection drives during the holiday season, Nicole is always there to show up for her neighbors. I know that Nicole is a staunch advocate for our community as she represents us in Annapolis, and I know that she will continue working for us when she is reelected this November!"

- Carol Malveaux, District 22 Resident Thank you, Carol, for your support! While having the backing of local organizations is very important, it means the world to have community members and neighbors sharing their messages of support. Above all else, I am running to be your voice in Annapolis!

The Maryland State Education Association represents teachers and faculty across the state that are committed to creating great public schools for every young Marylander. The Prince George's County Education Association represents teachers in our county and works to promote better working conditions and benefits for educators and more learning opportunities for our students. As your Delegate, I will support measures like the Blueprint for Maryland's Future to expand access to quality schools in Maryland and right here in Prince George's County.

The Maryland State and District of Columbia AFL-CIO is one of nearly 500 state and local labor councils of the national AFL-CIO. This chapter is composed of over 50 affiliate unions, representing local workers in a wide range of industries. I am proud to have received their endorsement as I continue to fight in Annapolis to improve the lives of working families across our state.

I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is the nation's largest advocacy organization focused on protecting the environment and ensuring clean air, water, and land for generations to come.
